This was an interesting one. I love apps where you can scan a barcode and comparison shop, or get nutritional information or whatnot, so i tried Google Goggles. This app will scan something like a famous painting or book cover, and bring up information on it.
For example, I scanned the cover of Tina Fey's book "Bossypants" and got the correct title, author and options on where to buy the book. I scanned some pictures from a book about Leonardo DaVinci, and it gave me the artist and title of the painting. I tried to scan pictures of celebrities, but did not get a hit on those unless it was from a book cover. I suppose if it was a famous picture I may have gotten some info.
So all in all, pretty cool app, but I don't think I will use it much. However, I will leave it on my phone, because it is kind of fun to play with.

Thing 2: helpful tips & tricks
I watched the video for the Ipad and thought it was very helpful. Especially since I realized I had not updated to iOS 7. There were definitely some things I didn't know about. Will I remember them? We shall see!
I also found tips for my Samsung Galaxy phone that were very useful. I had been trying to figure out how to easily close apps so not to drain my battery, and there it was!
This one was definitely worth the time, and I like that it didn't take long to pick up a few good pointers.
